Heard such good things about this place. First I get treated like our reservation is too inconvenient for them and then no high chairs. Seriously? Won’t be trying this place. I kind of like to feel valued as a customer... just sayin’

Very disappointed. It was highly recommended. All 3 of our steaks were undercooked and full of gristle. One was almost completely raw in the middle. Had to make reservations and paid high price for food. Will not be back.

The food is delicious and has generous proportions. The staff is friendly and prompt. Just don't take the Section road suggestion from Google unless you have 4 wheel drive. Cash only. Truly a hidden treasure!

I reserve my 5 star reviews for those businesses, that in my opinion, habitually over-deliver and this is one of those. Outstanding customer service, outstanding fresh and savory foods, private and secluded ambiance. Love their cash-only, reservation-only policy because it's so worth it to make the drive and enjoy an awesome time. Wish I'd have eaten on their outdoor area. Can't wait to come back!

The food was delicious, I loved the quaint of it all. What I didn’t appreciate is that a party that had the same time reservations as us had come after us and were served a fruit platter but we weren’t. That’s when I decided to change waiters and we had Sean who was phenomenal and really took care of us.It’s unfortunate this owner doesn’t take cards, so Jurassic. Time to keep up with technology grandma...

Nuckleweed is just okay. For being near small towns, I get that it's trying to do upscale food, but it's very dated. It's also very overpriced for the types of sides it gives you and the preparation of food. A medium rare steak was far more medium than rare. Also it's a very strange atmosphere. You call and they're ways booked but the place is so quiet. Two other couples were there and it felt like everyone was trying to keep a secret with all the whispering. However, the tables are really cool. Very interesting carved wood. One other thing, they don't serve any alcohol. I understand the whole NM liquor license fiasco but not having wine needs to be advertised.

My wife and I both got the Lumberjack Stack for breakfast. It was almost too much to eat, but it was so good I was able to finish mine. Can't wait to go back for dinner! Great service and home-y atmosphere. We both highly recommend.

Delicious and relaxed meal in the mountains outside Alamogordo. The restaurant isn't fancy by any stretch...definitely has a more homey feel. Our group was served very well by a single waiter who was knowledgeable and attentive without unnecessary interruptions to our conversation. I ordered my steak medium well but probably should have gone with medium to get my preferred temperature. Bring your own to go boxes because the meals are too big for one sitting and you will want to save room for dessert. Cash or check only (no credit cards).

The food here is beyond compare for any restaurant in the state. Homemade bread, fresh fruit, unbelievably delicious Angus beef steaks. Make a reservation, though the place is small.

Absolutely fantastic place, just got to eat there again on vacation. I'd heard a rumor that they were closed but whomever posted that must have just gone by on one of their closed days. They are open and as great as ever!

Food is awesome and the portions are huge!One thing to note is that they only take cash or check.I took pictures of their breakfast and dinner menus, but as always those are subject to change. Some things on the menu require a 24 hour notice.It's recommended to call and make a reservation but if they are not busy they will take you.Make sure to save room for dessert, also a large portion!If you think you'll have leftovers you might want to take your own to go box as they don't provide one.

It's always been a great experience to eat at the Nuckleweed Place. We love the food and the service there. The food is always so fresh and prepared deliciously. Our son is very picky with food, and last Friday, he just had his best dinner this year! If you are looking for great food and a cosy atmosphere, just reserve your table there!

Sometimes you have to go to the middle of nowhere to find the best. We were TOTALLY amazed. Everything we had (eggs benedict, French toast, sausage) we shared, we loved. Coffee was great! Staff-great. I wish it was closer to Wisconsin!

Fantastic food and well worth the drive. Everything was extremely fresh and is made to order. Because of this, you will need to be patient while your food is being prepared. Tip: Look to see if there are flies as you are approaching the entrance. If there are, you should sit inside as they tend to fly throughout the patio area.

The food is delicious. You can tell it is fresh made every day. Key to note that you must have cash or check and an appointment. We were accommodated even though we didn't have a reservation. The bread is crunchy crust with a velvet soft center. The fruit plate was a nice surprise also. Their vinigarette was the tasty I have ever had. Shrimp is cooked perfectly and has an amazing flavor. The service was far above anything you normally get. A very awesome atmosphere that you are sure to love.

An absolute hidden gem that would rival any big city 5 star restaurant in creativity, quality and service. Looking forward to eating here again. Crazy little gem of a place. Double-wide trailer, gorgeous deck, horses outside, but the food is delicious and your meal includes all courses! Come expecting to have a European-style experience, enjoying each course. Make sure to save room for dessert - they are glorious!

Exceptionally UNCOMMON. Everyone I have ever taken to Knuckleweed has thought I was playing a trick on them, then they eat the food. The stuffed french toast during breakfast is out of this world, I have never had anything like it. The dinner menu changes constantly, and you should make reservations and bring CASH. Staff is alway accomodating and friendly.
